Helena Bajaj-Larsen

Verve Fashion

Helena Bajaj-Larsen is one of the major surprises of this season. Half Indian, half Norwegian and designing out of Paris, her fabrics are hand painted on Indian silks and cottons sourced from Khandi shops.

The choice of fabrics and patterns works with the flow, lightness and movement of shirts, jackets, skirts that constantly reveal complex visual elements with the movement of her models. The lightness of fabric allows differences of density in layers of a dress and jacket.

Bajaj-Larsen is fully invested in the process of creating the art that is printed on her textiles, the matching and construction of those pieces, and including her accessory designs.

It is beautifully understated, complex work that understands all elements of creating multi-dimensional pieces.
